Once a year visitors from all over the country enjoy the sights and sounds of 18th century Hampton overrun by pirates. Hampton’s waterfront comes alive with dozens of pirate re-enactors, costumed in historically accurate garb, who transform today’s Hampton into the busy seaport of yesterday.
Led by Blackbeard the pirate himself, re-enactors help visitors step back in time and re-live the history and legends of 1718 Hampton.
The festival offers a variety of children’s activities, live musical entertainment, fireworks, period vendors, arts and crafts, and much more!

Start hobnobbing with the Pirates as they make landfall on Friday night, June 12 at The Grand Pirate’s Bash located at the Virginia Air & Space Science Center on Settlers Landing Road from 6-9 p.m. Wear your finest piratical attire for this ticketed event filled with fun, food and frivolity. Entertainment will be provided by Clan McCool, Rusty Cutlass and The Brigands while you hear tales of bounty hunting and folklore as you mingle with pirates. Tickets for the Grand Pirate’s Bash are $35 and may be purchased through the Parks, Recreation & Leisure Services website , the PRLS main office or at the door ($40). Space is limited!
