Hampton Storytelling will hold their free December storytelling program for all ages, as part of their free “No Rusty Ears” series encouraging listeners to stay attuned to the art of storytelling.

The theme of December’s event is “Packing for the Unexpected.” It features stories about letting go of the life you’ve planned to embrace the life waiting for you.

December’s storyteller is Amanda Lawrence, who comes from a family of storytellers, and shares her own stories all across the Southeast.

Hampton Storytelling held its third annual Hampton Storytelling Festival this past July, featuring both nationally and internationally known professional storytellers, as well as newly minted local storytellers. The festival serves as a platform for connection, healing, and community pride, spotlighting the personal and collective narratives that make Hampton unique. In addition to the festival, the organization hosts monthly storytelling events, including local story swaps and special performances, building year-round opportunities for residents to connect, listen, and be heard. By empowering storytellers of all backgrounds, Everybody’s Got a Story is nurturing a culture of shared understanding—one story at a time.

Admission is free, and held is in the museum's Great Hall.

Hampton Storytelling is in partnership with the Hampton History Museum, the Hampton Unity Commission, Virginia Organizing, and Virginia Humanities.
