Held on the birthday of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., this event honors Dr. King’s enduring legacy and celebrates local individuals who have lived by the values he championed. Those recognized exemplify a lifelong commitment to service, justice, and equality, and their names will be added to the Hampton Heroes Plaza.
The Martin Luther King Jr. and Hampton Heroes Memorial Plaza is dedicated to Dr. King and to the men and women who devoted their lives to building bridges, strengthening community, and advancing social justice and equal rights in Hampton.
