“Silent Shadows”
Sunday, January 11, 2-4 pm
Free and open to the
public
Hampton Storytelling will hold their free
January storytelling program, as part of their “No Rusty Ears” series
encouraging listeners to stay attuned to the art of storytelling.
The theme of this month's Hampton Storytelling event is “Silent Shadows”
presented by Tama Lunceford. It’s a storytelling journey through the shadows
and triumphs surrounding human trafficking, from the voices of Nigerian
schoolgirls to those heard in rural American landscapes. Please note that this
presentation addresses serious themes and includes references to violence and
human suffering. While the material is respectfully delivered, it may be
difficult for sensitive audience members.
Tama is an alum of the Jonesborough Storytellers Guild and native of rural New
York State. She now lives in Nashville, TN.
Hampton Storytelling "No Rusty Ears" is presented in
partnership with the Hampton History Museum, the Hampton Unity Commission,
Virginia Organizing, and Virginia Humanities.
