Notice is hereby given that the Hampton City Council will hold a special meeting on Thursday, April 9, 2026, a t 8:30 a.m. This meeting is called pursuant to Section 3.04 of the City Charter.
The purpose of the meeting is to tour two data center facilities to enhance the understanding of City Council members and staff regarding this emerging technology. Portions of the meeting will be conducted in closed session during the tours due to proprietary information shared by the private businesses under a promise of confidentiality.
The tour will depart from Hampton City Hall, 22 Lincoln Street, Hampton, Virginia, at 8:30 a.m., travel to Hanover County, break for lunch, then continue to Henrico County before returning to Hampton City Hall.
An agenda will be published on or before Friday, April 3, 2026.
Council intends to provide a public overview of data centers and digital infrastructure at a future open meeting.
