Stars Over Hampton: July 4th Celebration

Bring the entire family for a free spectacular 4th of July celebration on the Downtown Hampton Waterfront featuring live music, food, community spirit, and one of the most spectacular fireworks and drone shows in the region. Settler’s Landing Road will be closed to vehicular traffic, with bleachers and food vendors. 

There will be 3 performance stages, including the main stage at Carousel Park. The entertainment will be headlined by The Downtown Band, a high-energy, dance-driven cover band from Nashville, Tennessee.

Fireworks & 400-Drone Light Show

Beginning at 9:15 p.m., the evening culminates with an incredible patriotic finale featuring:

• A spectacular fireworks display over the Hampton River
• A breathtaking 400-drone light show illuminating the night sky with patriotic imagery and iconic local landmarks

Together, these two experiences create a truly unique Fourth of July celebration that guests of all ages will remember for years to come.

Declaration of Independence reading

4 p.m. 

There will be a reading of the Declaration of Independence by a historical interpreter bringing George Wythe to life at the Hampton History Museum, 120 Old Hampton Lane (location moved from intersection of King Street and Queens Way).

Kick off the evening with patriotic favorites and country music classics.

The Downtown Band

6 – 9 p.m.

Straight from Nashville, Tennessee, this high-energy cover band delivers an unforgettable show packed with crowd favorites,
sing-alongs, and nonstop dancing.

Mill Point Stage

Bring your lawn chairs, relax along the waterfront, and enjoy an evening of celebration with friends, family, and neighbors.

To create a safe and pedestrian-friendly experience, Settlers Landing Road will be closed to vehicle traffic during the event. Guests are encouraged to walk throughout the waterfront district, explore local businesses, enjoy live entertainment, and take in all the festivities.

Stars Over Hampton is more than a fireworks show. It's an opportunity to celebrate our nation's independence, enjoy outstanding live entertainment, support local businesses and vendors, and create lasting memories with family and friends. There is no better place to celebrate the Fourth of July than Hampton's beautiful waterfront.

Come early, bring your lawn chairs, and spend Independence Day with us on the Downtown Hampton.

Parking and Shuttle Information

Convenient parking will be available throughout Downtown Hampton, as well as at the Hampton Roads Convention Center (1610 Coliseum Drive) in Convention Center lots 6, 7 and 8, with free shuttles operating 5 - 10:30 p.m. from Convention Center Boulevard, providing easy transportation to and from the event. Handicap accessible parking will be located at Hampton City Hall, 22 Lincoln St., in the brick-paved lots facing Lincoln Street and Eaton Street. Golf cart shuttles will be operated to and from City Hall throughout the evening for individuals with mobility concerns.
